The Department of Commerce at Don Bosco College, KR Puram, organized the Commerce Day Gala on 4th August 2025. The event featured the official launch of the Commerce Association, “MERCATURA,” along with formal addresses, presentations, and performances.
Rev. Dr. Geo Kalladanthiyil, Principal of Don Bosco College, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the evolving role of commerce in education and society. Ms. Pooja Easwar, Head of the Department of Commerce, outlined the department’s vision and upcoming student-driven initiatives under the Commerce Association.
The Chief Guest, Mr. G. C. Rao—CA, CMA, CPA, and Former Vice Chairman of ICMAI—shared insights on commerce, professional education, and industry expectations. The association was officially launched through a presentation and video. Titled “MERCATURA,” the Latin word for commerce, the club was introduced as a platform for commerce-related activities. Mr. Felix presented the club’s objectives and plans.
Mr. Raamiz compered the program, and Mr. Parth Sharma welcomed the gathering. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Angel, followed by closing remarks from Mr. Raamiz. The Department of Commerce acknowledged all contributors and affirmed its commitment to continued student engagement through initiatives under MERCATURA.
