The Department of Commerce, Don Bosco College, KR Puram, organized an online webinar under the NSDL Financial Literacy Drive on August 21, 2025. The session, titled ‘Laying the Foundation for Smart Investments,’ was attended by 91 B.Com Finance & Accounting students.
The webinar was conducted by Mr. Suhas Rajput, SEBI Smart Trainer from Proficient Minds Training Organization, Belgaum. He explained the significance of financial literacy and guided investment practices.
The session covered topics such as early financial literacy and disciplined savings, the basics of equity, mutual funds, bonds, and other investment instruments, risk, return and diversification, investor rights and market awareness, and strategies for long-term wealth building. Case discussions and examples were used to illustrate the key concepts. The Department of Commerce thanked the resource person and the students for their participation in the programme.
