DBC Women’s Basketball Team Wins BNU University Championship

The Women’s Basketball Team of Don Bosco College, K. R. Puram, won the BNU University Championship on November 18, 2025, by defeating long-time champions Kristu Jayanti College (KJC) 19–16 in the final.

The team started the tournament with a 33–8 win over the Army Institute of Hotel Management (AIHM) in the qualifiers held at the Army Institute of Fashion Design. Janet V scored 13 points in the final and was the top scorer.

The winning roster included Ruth Esther U (Captain), Janet V (Vice-Captain), Jhansi Rani S., Anusha P., Swayan B., Monisha N., Venilla V., Maria Gladis Gloria R., and Bhuvaneshwari S. Six players from the team have been selected for the University Team to represent Don Bosco College in inter-university competitions.

The Men’s Basketball Team also participated in the tournament, with player Leo Komal Ray selected for the University Team. Both teams were coached by Mr. Nithin. The college congratulates all athletes on their efforts and achievements, especially the players selected for the University Team.
