The Department of Commerce at Don Bosco College, KR Puram, organized orientation sessions on ACCA, CA, and CMA for first-year B.Com and BBA students on August 4 and 5, 2025. The sessions aimed to introduce students to globally and nationally recognized professional qualifications in finance, accounting, and business.
The ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) orientation was held on August 4, 2025. Mr. Banu Prakash delivered the welcome address, highlighting the relevance of international professional certifications. The session was led by Mr. Sudeeph Sharma, Mr. Subramanian, Mr. Anthony, and Mr. Nambiar, who discussed the ACCA qualification structure, its integration with the B.Com curriculum, global recognition, and career prospects. They also explained the examination process, study resources, and support systems available to students pursuing the course.
On August 5, 2025, the department hosted a session on CA (Chartered Accountancy) and CMA (Cost and Management Accounting). Ms. Swetha welcomed the participants and encouraged them to explore Indian professional qualifications as viable career options. The session was conducted by Mr. Sri Ram Vamshi and Mr. Purushotham, who provided details on the exam structure for CA and CMA, key differences between the two, specialization options, and effective time management strategies. They also emphasized the need for discipline, commitment, and proper mentorship.
The sessions offered students a foundational understanding of various professional pathways and helped them make informed decisions about future career options.
