Don Bosco College, KR Puram, conducted a Faculty Development Programme on July 3, 2025, centred on the theme “Towards Excellence: Quality Enhancement in Higher Education.” The programme aimed to strengthen institutional practices for academic and administrative improvement.
The first session, led by Dr. Joseph I. Injodey, focused on the importance of quality enhancement through a case-study-based approach. Key aspects such as stakeholder engagement, institutional culture, and systematic processes were discussed as essential drivers of quality. Emphasis was placed on the need for continuous evaluation and improvement across academic, research, and administrative functions.
The second session, conducted by Dr. Sabeen Govind P.V., focused on the core enablers of institutional excellence. Topics included effective teaching and learning, governance, financial planning, consultancy support, and digital transformation. The session stressed the importance of developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all institutional processes to ensure consistency, transparency, and accountability. It also highlighted the need for institutions to have a clear vision and mission, establish high benchmarks, and work systematically to achieve them.
The programme concluded with a joint session by both speakers on department-wise academic planning for the 2025–26 academic year. The discussion laid the foundation for structured, goal-driven initiatives focused on institutional growth and quality enhancement.
