On October 29, 2025, the Department of Social Work at Don Bosco College, Bengaluru, organized a farewell programme for the first batch of MSW students. The junior BSW and MSW students coordinated the event.
The programme was inaugurated by Rev. Dr. Geo Kalladanthiyil, Principal of Don Bosco College, along with Mr. Vinod Kumar, Vice Principal. In his address, Rev. Dr. Geo Kalladanthiyil spoke about the significance of the first batch in an institution and encouraged the students to remain connected to their alma mater. He conveyed his best wishes to the graduating students for their future endeavours.
Mr. Vinod Kumar, Vice Principal, highlighted the role of social work professionals as agents of change and referred to the objectives of the MSW programme, which aims to prepare students to contribute to society through professional social work practice.
Dr. Mary Binu, faculty member from the Department of Social Work, addressed the gathering and extended her wishes to the outgoing students. During the programme, a few students shared their experiences from the course. Ms. Kavya Sree Venu Gopal expressed appreciation to the faculty and the department for their guidance and support throughout the programme.
The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony led by the Principal and faculty members. The outgoing students presented mementoes to the teachers, followed by a group photo session.
