The Department of Social Work at Don Bosco College organised Halla Bol, an inter-collegiate street play competition, on December 8, 2025. The event was held in connection with Human Rights Day, observed annually on 10 December.
A total of eight street play teams registered for the competition. Participating teams represented St. Joseph’s College of Commerce, St. Joseph’s University, Christ University Yeshwanthpur Campus, Rajagiri School of Social Sciences (Kerala), and Bangalore University.
The programme began with an inaugural session led by Fr. Dr. Geo Kalladanthiyil, Principal, and Mr. Vinod Kumar, Vice Principal. Following the inauguration, teams performed in sequence according to the chest numbers assigned to them. Each team presented a street play focusing on social themes. The performances used drums, dialogue delivery, and expressions to convey their messages.
The judging panel evaluated the performances based on the prescribed scorecard. The winner and runner-up positions were secured by two teams from Christ University Yeshwanthpur Campus. The first prize carried a cash award of ₹10,000, and the second prize carried a cash award of ₹5,000.
At the conclusion of the event, student representatives from participating colleges shared feedback. They acknowledged the arrangements made by Don Bosco College and the opportunity provided to present their street plays.
