On July 15, 2025, the National Service Scheme (NSS) and the Department of Social Work at Don Bosco College, Bengaluru, hosted a visit from the Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA) team as part of the ongoing IPCA-SORT Project collaboration.
The visiting delegation included Mr. Ashish Jain, Founder Director of IPCA; Dr. Radha Goya, Deputy Director of IPCA; Mrs. Priya Kalia and Mr. Shivam Rawat, CSR representatives from the Motherson Group; Ms. Aparajita Singh, representative from KPMG; and members of the IPCA Bengaluru team—Mrs. Spurthi L, Mr. Munna Saha, Mr. Ramachandra, Mr. Balraj, Mr. Santhosh, Mr. Surya, and Mr. Pranab.
The programme began with a formal welcome by Rev. Dr. Wilson K.D., Director of Don Bosco College, and Rev. Dr. Geo Kalladanthiyil, Principal of Don Bosco College. The visitors were taken on a guided campus tour and briefed on the status of the IPCA-Don Bosco Solid Waste Management Project, including the installation and use of aerobic composters, waste segregation systems, and awareness initiatives undertaken by the college.
An interactive session was conducted with NSS volunteers and Social Work students. During the session, the visiting team shared insights on waste management, behavioural practices, and the role of youth in sustainability efforts. Mr. Ashish Jain acknowledged the contributions of staff and students in implementing sustainability measures on campus. The visit concluded with an exchange of tokens of appreciation and a shared intent to strengthen future collaboration on environmental projects.
