The new academic year at Don Bosco College, KR Puram, commenced on July 9, 2025, with an orientation programme for newly admitted students and their parents. The formal inauguration ceremony was led by Rev. Dr. Wilson K.D., Director of the College; Rev. Dr. Geo Kalladanthiyil, Principal; and Fr. Prasad, Director of the Bosco Institute of Social Sciences (BISS).
Mr. Vinod Kumar, Vice Principal, delivered the Welcome Address. Rev. Dr. Wilson introduced the mission of Salesian education, highlighting its emphasis on values and social responsibility. In his address, Rev. Dr. Geo spoke about the college’s inclusive learning environment and its focus on the overall development of every student.
After a brief refreshment break, the Principal led a session titled ‘Welcome to Don Bosco College,’ during which he presented the institution’s vision, mission, core values, significant milestones, and provided a comprehensive overview of the three-year academic journey.
A joint session by the Principal and Vice Principal, titled ‘Awareness is Strength,’ outlined the college’s code of conduct and concluded with a quiz to encourage engagement and clarity among students.
In the post-lunch session, Fr. Bosco, Fr. Timothy, and the team from Vishwadeep facilitated activities centred on self-awareness and social skills, fostering reflection and interaction among participants.
The day concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Mary Binu, Head of the Department of Humanities, who acknowledged the contributions of the management, staff, students, and volunteers.
