On January 15, 2025, Don Bosco College, K.R. Puram, hosted an insightful workshop for the office bearers of the Centre for Placement and Corporate Relations. The session was led by Prof. Narayana Prasad, Consultant Coordinator of the Skill Enhancement and Placement Cell at Bengaluru North University, who shared his extensive expertise on building and enhancing placement cells across colleges in Karnataka.
Prof. Prasad, with years of experience in the field, provided valuable guidance to the Placement Cell team at Don Bosco College, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the placement activities at the institution. He stressed the urgency of registering every student with the placement cell to ensure that no opportunity is missed. Prof. Prasad underscored the necessity of conducting regular training programs—daily, weekly, and monthly—to equip students with the skills they need for a competitive job market.
Focusing on the broader scope of career opportunities, Prof. Prasad advised that students be oriented towards a variety of sectors, including government jobs, banking, private enterprises, and self-employment. He also highlighted exciting placement opportunities from industry giants like Wipro and other multinational corporations, encouraging the team to leverage such projects to secure placements for the students.
In addition to strategy and training, Prof. Prasad emphasized the importance of thorough documentation of all placement efforts, which would provide a clear record of the college’s success in this area. He concluded by reiterating that guiding students towards successful careers is one of the most meaningful ways the college can fulfil its social responsibility.
This workshop proved to be an invaluable opportunity for the Placement Cell at Don Bosco
College to refine its approach and elevate the career prospects of its students, ensuring they
are well-prepared for the future.
