The Social Work Department of Don Bosco College, TC Palya, Bengaluru, organised an Online Guest Lecture on the eve of Ambedkar Jayanti, held on April 14th, 2024. The theme of the lecture, “Relevance of Ambedkar’s View of Education for Social Transformation,” aimed to explore Dr. Ambedkar’s perspectives on education and its role in societal change.

Dr. Shivanand Pawar from Jain University served as the resource person for the session. He emphasised the importance of propagating universal education across all sections of society. Dr. Pawar provided statistics highlighting the positive impact of education initiatives on marginalised communities, attributing much of this progress to the efforts of Dr. Ambedkar. He underscored Dr. Ambedkar’s humanistic beliefs, noting that education can foster welfare among people.

Overall, it was a valuable learning experience for our student community, fostering deeper insights into the transformative potential of education in achieving social equity and justice.
