International Conference on Commerce and Sustainability Held in Bengaluru

The Department of Commerce at Don Bosco College organized an international conference titled ‘Reimagining Commerce for Sustainable Innovations (RCSI 2026)’ on April 17 and 18, 2026. The event included a panel discussion, keynote sessions, and research paper presentations with participation from academicians, research scholars, students, and industry professionals from multiple countries.

The first day featured an online panel discussion held from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. The session was compered by Ms. Soumya M and began with a welcome address by Ms. Shwetha S M, Convenor of the conference. Addresses were delivered by Rev. Dr. Wilson K D, Rector and Director, and Rev. Dr. Geo Kalladanthiyil, Principal. The panel included Ms. Aileen Amador, Head of Sustainability Campus & Upskilling at Capgemini, France; Mr. Digbijoy Sen, External Consultant (Treasury) at HDFC Bank Ltd.; Mr. N. Raveendranath Kaushik, Former Chairman of the Bengaluru Chapter of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India; Mr. Raghavendra B K, Chairman of the Bengaluru Chapter of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India; and Dr. Bhupendra Bahadur Tiwari, Director, School of Economics and Commerce, CMR University. The session was moderated by the Vice Principal and concluded with a vote of thanks.

The second day began with an inaugural session at 9:00 AM. The session was hosted by Ms. Keerthi G M, followed by a welcome address by Ms. Pooja P Easwar, Head of the Department and Convenor. Addresses were delivered by Rev. Dr. Wilson K D and Rev. Dr. Geo Kalladanthiyil. The keynote speakers included Ms. Chinyere O, Strategy and Sustainability Advisor and ESG Risk Analyst, UK, who addressed environmental, social, and governance frameworks and risk assessment, and Mr. Navin Malhotra, Sustainability Program Manager at Capgemini, who spoke on sustainability initiatives and business strategies.

The conference included paper presentations across eight thematic tracks, including accounting, finance, auditing, taxation, human resources, marketing, and business practices. A total of 138 research papers were presented by 191 participants from India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.

The conference concluded with a valedictory session, during which an overview of the proceedings was presented and the best paper awards were announced. Closing remarks were delivered by Ms. Shwetha S M and Ms. Pooja P Easwar, who acknowledged participants, speakers, and organizers.
