On October 25, 2024, the Department of Humanities at Don Bosco College organized ‘COLOS – Celebrate Diversity’ to mark Mental Health Day. The event aimed to provide students a platform to explore mental health awareness, diversity, and interdisciplinary learning.
The event featured the Colos Quiz Competition as its primary attraction, where 13 teams competed in preliminaries, leading to a showdown between four teams. Team A from S1 BCA secured first place, and Team D from S5 B. Com obtained second place.
Students also engaged in hands-on learning through various interactive stalls. The Psychology stall included activities such as Mirror Mastery for adaptability, Shape Shifters for problem-solving skills, and an ‘Emotion Tree’ for open discussions on mental well-being. The Journalism department set up a ‘green room’ to simulate a newsroom and hosted photography and reel-making contests. Meanwhile, the Literature Hub showcased a variety of books, along with interactive activities like riddles and idiom identification.
The event concluded with a theme show focused on breaking stereotypes and a prize distribution ceremony conducted by the college’s Director, Principal, and Vice Principal. COLOS highlighted Don Bosco College’s motto, Learn and Lead, emphasising learning, inclusion, and community engagement.
