The Department of Social Work at Don Bosco College, KR Puram, Bengaluru, organized a three-day Special Intensive Revision (SIR) Awareness Campaign from 29 July to 31 July 2026 to promote constitutional awareness and strengthen democratic participation among students. The campaign witnessed the active involvement of over 1,000 students from various academic departments, transforming the campus into a vibrant centre of civic engagement.
The sessions were led by Rev. Fr. Dr. George P.S., Director of BISS, who highlighted the significance of the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls and emphasized the importance of ensuring that every eligible citizen is included in the voters’ list. Students were encouraged to verify voter registration details within their families and communities and to actively assist others in completing the Enumeration Form before the deadline.
Adopting an interactive approach, the sessions engaged students in meaningful discussions on the rights and duties of citizens enshrined in the Constitution of India. Through practical demonstrations, students were guided on the process of filling out the Enumeration Form, understanding eligibility criteria, required documents, timelines, and both online and offline registration methods. The role of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) was also explained, enabling students to seek proper guidance when needed.
The campaign concluded with a strong call for students to act as ambassadors of democratic participation by spreading awareness within their communities. Supported by dedicated student volunteers, the initiative not only enhanced awareness but also inspired students to translate constitutional values into responsible civic action, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to nurturing socially responsible citizens.
